Having read some other reviews I was a bit wary but thought I’ll just send them back if I’m not happy. As it turns out, they are fine to put a cup of tea etc on. They are sturdy, went together easily and stack neatly. You could pay a lot more money if you wanted them in wood, but all in all they are really good value. Very happy.

When I saw these I liked the look of them and veneered wood was fine, they would nicely replace our existing but old all-wood nest. On the plus side they were delivered promptly (a day before scheduled) and the packaging was thoughtful having plenty of protection from possible transit damage. The instructions were clearly from a prior incarnation as they referred to screws to attach the legs, whereas the tables sent used a bolt to fit through a bracing wedge (the only actual pieces of solid wood in the entire set) and screw into a 'nut' insert in the leg. Assembly in principle is easy BUT as the legs are made of MDF there is need for great care not to over-tighten the bolt. On one leg of one table the 'nut' insert was such a poor fit that even before the bolt started to 'bite' it released itself from the MDF leg bringing bits of loose MDF fibre with it! Only by re-gluing it into an obviously poorly drilled hole was it possible to attach the leg with the bolt and added glue. I suspect that over the course of time these 'bolt into MDF' fixings on the legs will prove to be vulnerable to even the lightest stress. My next job will, on reflection, be to remove all of the other legs on both of the sets that we bought and add some glue to strengthen the joints before the inevitable happens and the other MDF 'nut' inserts' come loose. It would have been better to clearly state that these are basically veneered MDF - a fact that some may wish to know for health & safety reasons as well as for longevity of the product.

I am really pleased with my nest of tables. They are sturdy and so easy to assemble and well worth the money. The nest matches my Video Unit which is a bonus. They are also modern as well and would recommend them. Well Done Amazon again. Sorry no photograph
